In Izmail Raion of Odesa Oblast, seven pupils from one of the lyceums were taken to hospital after they swallowed pills they believed were “vitamins”. The circumstances of the incident are currently being established by law enforcement.
According to the National Police, a notification from medics arrived during the day on May 8. Doctors reported the hospitalization of seven schoolchildren from the lyceum of the Saf’yanivska community with signs of poisoning by an unknown substance.
According to preliminary data, during a break the fifth-graders took pills that one of the pupils had brought to the school. The girl allegedly told classmates that they were “vitamins”. After that the children fell ill. The students were taken to the hospital, where they are being given the necessary medical care.
Police are currently establishing exactly which pills the children took, where they came from and under what circumstances they were brought into the school. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Recall that in Ukraine there were also warnings about the possible appearance for sale of jelly chewable candies containing the psychoactive substance — delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, known as THC.
