Whoop will offer in-app video consultations with licensed clinicians starting this summer for users in the U.S. The consultations will be accessible on-demand within the company’s fitness tracker app.

In addition, Whoop plans to implement support for Electronic Health Record (EHR) syncing. This feature will allow both members and the clinicians they connect with to easily access medical histories.

According to Whoop, “Unlike traditional healthcare experiences that rely on brief, episodic snapshots, these consultations begin with a comprehensive understanding of the member’s health, powered by months of continuous data and, when available, bloodwork and medical history.” The company has not disclosed the cost for this consultation service.

New artificial intelligence features will also be introduced in the app. “My Memory” will enable users to customize the context for their coaching, while “Proactive Check-Ins” will provide training and recovery recommendations based on users’ current life circumstances.

This announcement follows Google’s unveiling of its new Fitbit Air, a screenless fitness wearable similar to Whoop’s device.
