Pet wellness clinic to provide free vet services for needy pets on Saturday

Pet owners experiencing homelessness or financial hardship can attend a free pet wellness clinic on Saturday.

It is happening at the St. Vincent’s Dining Room parking lot on Valley Road at 8 a.m., according to a release from the group Feeding Pets of the Homeless, which is hosting the event alongside local community organizations.

Pets will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

Services will include basic veterinary examinations, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neuter vouchers, and pet food and supplies.

A limited number of spay/neuter vouchers will be available.

The clinic is made possible through the support of the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation and community partners, including Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada, Nevada Humane Society, Galena Veterinary Hospital, and IntroVet.

No pre-registration is required. Attendees are asked to leash dogs and bring cats in carriers.
