The Sports Facilities Companies has acquired Power Wellness, the nation’s largest fitness center management company, marking a major expansion of SFC’s integrated platform across sports, recreation, wellness, and community health. Power Wellness, founded in 1996 and headquartered in Lombard, Illinois, is one of the most established names in medically integrated fitness and wellness.
With more than 2,000 professionals across consulting, management, fitness, and technology, the company partners with healthcare systems, municipalities, and community organizations to connect clinical care with community fitness through evidence‑based wellness programs. Power Wellness currently manages 26 facilities in 13 states, serving more than 90,000 members.
SFC said the acquisition strengthens its ability to support communities with comprehensive, cost‑effective solutions across the health, wellness, and recreation spectrum. Power Wellness will continue operating under its existing brand as Power Wellness by The Sports Facilities Companies, with Ken Gorman remaining president and CEO. Integration will occur gradually to maintain continuity for clients while expanding resources and capabilities for future growth. The addition builds on SFC’s recent expansions into ice rink and golf course management through RCI and Spirit Golf Management, further enhancing its ability to serve municipalities, developers, healthcare systems, and higher education institutions with fully integrated destination management solutions.
SFC now operates more than 140 venues with approximately 7,000 team members, welcoming nearly 30 million annual guest visits and generating more than $1 billion in annual economic impact.
