Admission to 'Wellness by the Boat' program is now free, National Museum of the Great Lakes says

The program, held on select Saturdays through September, includes yoga, Tai Chi and strength training on the museum’s campus.

TOLEDO, Ohio — “Wellness by the Boat,” a series run by the National Museum of the Great Lakes (NMGL), will return for 2026 – this time at no cost to the public.

The wellness series is held on select Saturdays from May through September at 10 a.m., and includes programming in yoga, strength training and Tai Chi, regardless of previous experience. NMGL said the program is now available for free thanks to a co-sponsorship from UToledo Health and Dr. Mary R. Smith.

The wellness activities take place outdoors on NMGL campus, right next to the Maumee River and the Col. James M. Schoonmaker Museum Ship.

While admission is free, registration is still required. To see the schedule of wellness activities and to register, click here

Saturday, May 16 will feature a strength training class called “StrongHER by the River.” It begins at 10 a.m.
