MEXICO CITY — Nutrition is top of mind for commercial bakers and consumers alike. Grupo Bimbo, parent company to Bimbo Bakeries USA, is meeting this demand across 98% of its everyday consumption lineup.

In its “Celebrating What Unites Us” integrated annual report, the baking company shared that a majority of its bread products and sweet goods meet the optimal nutritional profile for their respective categories.

Grupo Bimbo classified this claim using the Health Star Rating methodology, which evaluates CPGs on their nutritional profile ranging from 0.5 to 5 stars. This system identifies products that achieve a 3.5 or higher as having verifiable optimal nutritional quality. Grupo Bimbo achieved this in its offerings by fortifying baked goods with fiber, protein, whole grain and vitamins, while also reducing the amount of sodium, added sugars, and saturated and trans fats.

Additionally, the company has made major strides in implementing some health-forward attributes in its portfolio. Grupo Bimbo reported that 100% of its products are free of artificial colors and 99% are free of artificial flavors. This aligns with its goal to remove artificial colors from its offerings worldwide, announced by the company June 2025.
