Birmingham City Schools to host Mental Health and Wellness Day
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham City Schools Social Emotional Learning Department will host a Mental Health and Wellness Day at George Washington Carver High School on Friday.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is designed to promote mental health awareness, self-care, emotional well-being and healthy lifestyles. Activities will focus on stress management, mindfulness and physical wellness.
“Mental health and wellness are essential to student success both inside and outside ofthe classroom,” said BCS Superintendent Dr. Mark A. Sullivan. “This event reflects ourcontinued commitment to supporting the whole child and creating environments wherestudents feel safe, supported, and empowered.”
