D&D Beyond Goes North With Two New Kobold Press Supplements

D&D Beyond Goes North With Two New Kobold Press Supplements

If your current D&D campaign has been feeling a little too warm and cozy, you may want to bundle up and take a look at the latest third-party expansion to hit D&D Beyond. The release includes two digital sourcebooks from Kobold Press for their icy Viking-inspired setting: The Northlands Worldbook (which provides a range of new character options and location details) and Northlands Sagas (which provides a series of adventures for Levels 1 to 12).

Both books originally launched as a part of a highly successful Kickstarter in late 2025 are available in physical and PDF format for both D&D 5.5E and Tales of the Valiant. These latest D&D Beyond versions, however, mark yet another series of third-party Kobold Press products that have made their way to Wizards of the Coast’s once-closed-off digital platform.

So just what dangers await in the cold depths of the Northlands? Below, we head to the land of ice and snow to find out.

How much are the Northlands sourcebooks on D&D Beyond?

The Northlands Worldbook retails for $39.99 USD (notably the PDF version from Kobold Press retails for $29.99 USD, so what you’re really paying for is the integration with D&D Beyond). The D&D Beyond version of Northlands Sagas also retails for $39.99 USD (notably the PDF version from Kobold Press is just $24.99 USD).

You can, however, also purchase the Northlands Bundle for $69.99 USD on D&D Beyond (which is a savings of $10 USD versus the cost of purchasing both books separately).

Final Thoughts

Norse mythology has had a huge impact on Dungeons & Dragons since the earliest editions of the game, but we haven’t really seen any new content for D&D fifth edition. Kobold Press, however, has definitely remedied that situation, offering up a massive amount of new Viking-inspired content for the D&D 5.5E rules, so it’s great to see Wizards of the Coast bringing onto D&D Beyond.

Of course, if you’ve already picked up the books in print or PDF, you can probably skip these new digital versions. On the other hand, if you’re a hardcore D&D Beyond user looking to add a little Valhalla to your campaign, then this may be in your dragonship wheelhouse.

You can pick up the new books now individually or as the Northlands Bundle on D&D Beyond.
