Fitness program starts up to keep moms moving in Boardman
BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — A new fitness program geared towards moms celebrated its grand opening Sunday afternoon.
Fit-4-Mom was at the Maag Outdoor Theatre at Boardman Park, helping moms start exercising at their own pace.
Fit-4-Mom has been around nationally for 25 years, but they opened their first franchise today for the Mahoning Valley in Boardman.
Amanda Chismar, the lead instructor for the new location, says it’s a way to start a community feel for moms.
“Fitness is obviously physical health, but even more so in these classes, we’re focusing on mental health. It’s giving mom a reason to get out of the house to get moving and get active and to come together with other moms to feel supported and have that community feel,” Chismar said.
