'Eat to Treat' by Berghoff: Nutrition and mindset book - Indianapolis News

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Maggie Berghoff, a USA Today bestselling author and founder of The Online Business Academy, is helping people improve their health through nutrition and mindset with her book, “Eat to Treat.”

The former nurse practitioner wrote the book after facing her own health challenges in her early 20s, when she found traditional medicine did not provide the solutions she needed.

“I went through a variety of health problems in my young 20s, and I was actually a nurse practitioner, but traditional medicine wasn’t the answer that I needed for healing my body,” Berghoff said. “It was all around nutrition and mindset around nutrition, and eating was a big part of that.”

The book focuses on reducing inflammation, improving nutrition, and creating healthy environments that support overall well-being.

Berghoff said the response from readers has been overwhelmingly positive.

“Tens of thousands of people have been able to have the book, read it, get help,” she said. “Every single day I get messages from people who let me know that they’ve gotten more help through reading this book than they had in a decade of trying to heal their body.”

In addition to her work as an author, Berghoff leads The Online Business Academy, a mentorship program that helps health and wellness professionals launch and grow their own businesses.

“We’ve actually helped over 1,000 health and wellness practitioners — nurse practitioners, PAs, MDs, and nutritionists — build their own companies,” Berghoff said.

She said her passion extends beyond health and wellness to helping professionals create careers they enjoy.

“I’m so passionate about health and wellness and also living a life that you love,” Berghoff said. “Through opening my own wellness practice and helping all these people, I was able to build something that I really love.”

Berghoff credits social media with helping connect people to valuable health resources and coaches.

“I love social media for health and wellness,” she said. “Even with my own health journey, it was through social media and finding health coaches that helped me heal my body beyond the doctors and specialists.”

A key theme throughout both her book and business philosophy is simplicity.

“That’s actually kind of the through line to healing and building your company,” Berghoff said. “Simplicity is at the core of it.”

Beyond nutritional guidance, “Eat to Treat” encourages readers to create environments that support long-term wellness.

“Yes, eating, but also the whole second part is creating an environment to thrive so that you wake up each day in a home that is conducive to healing,” Berghoff said.

“Eat to Treat” is available through major booksellers, including Barnes & Noble, as well as online and through Berghoff’s website at www.maggieberghoff.com.
