PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The City of Norfolk released new images of the Norfolk Fitness and Wellness Center currently under construction.

In the images, you can see the outdoor sitting and play areas. Tennis and pickleball courts will be installed east of the play areas. To the north is the gymnasium and natatorium which will include a lazy river and a pool.

To the south you can see the roof of the new library and the parking lot beyond it.
The City of Norfolk says the Fitness and Wellness Center will be a state-of-the-art facility that blends recreation, fitness, and learning in one space.

The $68 million project will be a 100,000 square-foot “community hub” that will include a natatorium, gymnasium, full library, locker rooms, meeting spaces and more.
The facility is scheduled to open in the fall of 2027.
