Fourth runner- up is just one of a trio of top honors she received from judges at the Miss Illinois Teen pageant

MARION, Ill.–Miss Quincy’s Teen Olivia Martinez received the honor of fourth runner-up at the state competition on Friday night, achieving the top scores in interview and Community Service Initiative, which was the on-stage question.

“These recognitions mean so much to me because they reflect the countless hours of preparation, growth, and hard work that went into this journey,” Martinez told Muddy River News. “I left the stage knowing I gave my very best, and that is something I will always be proud of.”

Martinez said her goal was to represent her community, her values and community service.

Her community service initiative, “Start Young for a Brighter Tomorrow,” encourages youth entrepreneurship.

“Olivia is one of the brightest young women I know, and she worked incredibly hard throughout this experience,” Miss Quincy Scholarship Program Executive Director Lindsey Hess said. “It was such a joy to watch her shine this week. She approached every aspect of the competition with preparation, poise, and heart, and I couldn’t be prouder of how she represented Quincy.”

Martinez thanked both Lindsey Hess and Marcy Hess, who is the assistant director, for their unwavering support and encouragement.

“I am also incredibly thankful for the many mock interview panels, mentors, community leaders, friends, family members, and supporters who invested their time and wisdom over the past several months to help me grow and prepare for this moment,” Martinez said.

There are still many more moments ahead. With Miss Illinois Teen under her belt, Martinez returns to Quincy with a full slate of activities as she fulfills her one-year reign.

“This experience has taught me that success is not only measured by a crown, but by the growth, confidence, and relationships gained along the way,” Martinez said.
