PORT CLINTON – Aimee Slater, a licensed massage therapist, is celebrating 25 years of healing with the relocation of her business, Myofascial Wellness LLC, to 122 W. 2nd St., Suite 200, in downtown Port Clinton. Slater’s new location offers a quiet haven of healing where she offers myofascial release, sound therapy, and hypnotherapy.

Myofascial Wellness, which offers individual and group sessions, opened at the new location on May 26. Slater will host a public event, “Celebrate Summer Sound Bath,” on Saturday, June 20, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Participants will enjoy the benefits of sound therapy amidst the relaxing layers of sound and vibration from crystal and Tibetan singing bowls.

The event, held in celebration of the Summer Solstice, includes a short mindfulness session, gentle breathwork, and a musical time of receiving. Cost is $35, and space is limited. Register at www.aimeeslater.com.

Slater has helped hundreds of clients using myofascial release techniques which address pain relief, pain dysfunction, and stiffness.

“It helps you move better and feel better. It’s different than massage,” Slater said. “When your fascia system has restraints, it’s pulling you in different directions. Removing the restraints will help you be more centered, more agile.”

“Vibrations from the sound bath help fascial release. It affects fluid inside the fascial structure,” Slater said. “Sound therapy helps with blood flow and muscle relaxation.”

Slater recently became certified in spiritual hypnotherapy, a hands-off, client-led therapy.

“It addresses patterns, beliefs, and making good changes in one’s personal landscape,” she said. “It helps emotionally and spiritually, but also physically.”

Slater has recognized a connection between myofascial release and hypnotherapy.

“Myofascial release breaks patterns in the muscles, and spiritual hypnotherapy creates a space to let go of those patterns,” she said.

The new Myofascial Wellness location includes the “Suite 200” pop-up space where vendors can rent the front of the business for pop-up events. The building’s location in downtown Port Clinton makes it ideal for drawing customers.

“It can be used for many things – arts and crafts vendors, small groups, meditation events, yoga, exercise,” Slater said.

Slater will present at the Yoga Bliss Fest in Augusta, MO, which will be held on July 23-26. The event will feature yoga, sound healing, meditation, breathwork, art drumming, and more.

“It would make a great girls trip,” she said.

Slater is happy to welcome current and new clients to Myofascial Wellness in downtown Port Clinton.

“Not all healing is loud,” she said. “Sometimes it looks like stillness, breath, and skilled hands guiding the way.”
