Ema Thake joined Colorado Athletics as the Director of Performance Nutrition in June 2026.
In this role, she oversees the entire performance nutrition department, including team dietitians and culinary staff, and works closely with all teams and departments to implement evidence-based performance nutrition initiatives to optimize student-athlete health, performance, and recovery.
Before joining CU, Thake served as the Director of Performance Nutrition for the Denver Broncos from 2023-26. She previously held the same title at the University of North Carolina from 2022-23 and at the University of Washington from 2015-22.
Thake graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2010 with a degree in Dietetics and earned a master’s degree in Sports Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from the University of Utah in 2013. She competed in cross country and track and field at the University of Northern Colorado.
Thake graduated from Elizabeth High School in Elizabeth, Colo., where she participated in cross country and track and field. Her birthday is June 13. Outside of work, Thake enjoys hiking and trail running, gardening, and sports.
