Cody Plofker has stepped down as chief executive officer of Jones Road Beauty, the beauty brand founded by his mother, Bobbi Brown.
“I have decided to step down from my day-to-day role for a mixture of personal and professional reasons,” he revealed in a LinkedIn post Monday. “I am incredibly proud of what we were able to accomplish in around five years and never thought in my wildest of dreams we would be here so quickly.”

He said Jones Road is now a business with revenues in the nine figures and is profitable.
“Professionally, I’d rather be building funnels and running ads than managing people and dealing with various BS that comes with being CEO. I haven’t gotten to do the fun stuff in a while,” he continued. “For Jones Road, I know the business will be better served by an experienced CEO who has a different skillset than mine and a renewed passion for the business. This is 100 percent my decision and I have no shame in saying that, even though I helped us get here, I am not the right person for the next phase.”
Plofker will move to the board and remain actively involved as a board member, he said.
A representative for the beauty brand confirmed that a search for his successor has begun.
Brown launched Jones Road in 2020 after departing her namesake brand, owned by the Estée Lauder Cos., four years earlier. Debuting with makeup, it most recently expanded into body care with a quintet of products.
