A coroner’s inquest into the death of Haida Elder Jimmie Johannesson began this week, four years after he was shot by Surrey police during a wellness check. Latoya Farrell with the B.C. Civil Liberties Association says Johannesson was struggling with mental health, and that the association believes there was police misconduct in the incident.
