Belmont County Juvenile Court celebrates completion of 2026 youth fitness, trade program

  • August 5, 2026

BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio — The Belmont County Juvenile Court is marking the completion of its 2026 CCAP and CrossFit for Trade programs, a 10-week summer initiative designed to help young people build confidence, strengthen decision-making skills and develop healthy habits.

The program combined mentorship, educational activities, physical fitness and community service, recognizing youth who showed commitment, growth and perseverance throughout the summer.

Judge Al Davies, of the Belco Police Court Probate Juvenile Division, said participants made significant progress during the program.

“They accomplished a lot,” he said. “They gave a lot back to the community, community service, they learned a lot, counseling services that we provided.

“They also achieved fitness, mentally, physically, and emotionally through our CrossFit change program, the nutrition programs that we had. So it’s just a great day to recognize these kids and all of our community partners that are involved in this program.”

Participants attended programming and CrossFit sessions twice a week and completed community service projects across Belmont County.

Court officials said the goal is to give young people the tools they need to succeed through accountability, teamwork and personal responsibility.
