The recruit, who was assigned to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, was pronounced dead Wednesday at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, according to a news release from the depot. The medical emergency happened Saturday during the evaluation at the military base.
The recruit’s identity will not be released until 24 hours after family members are notified, officials said.
