DEVELOPMENTS
— Former Arizona LHP Jackson Kent made his MLB debut Wednesday night for the Washington Nationals. He allowed three runs in four-plus innings against the Chicago Cubs after the Nationals selected the contract of the 23-year-old pitcher from Triple-A Rochester (N.Y.). The left-hander struck out six while allowing three hits and walking five in Washington’s 12-6 loss. “I really didn’t have my best stuff, I think probably had my C stuff,” Kent said in a postgame press gathering. “So I really don’t need to change anything. It’s just getting better from here.” Kent was 9-4 with a 3.72 ERA in 20 starts between Double-A Harrisburg (Pa.) and Rochester this season. He had 105 strikeouts in 94⅓ minor league innings. A fourth-round draft pick in 2024, Kent is one of Washington’s top prospects and could receive an extended look in the season’s final seven weeks. He is the 96th former Arizona player to reach the MLB.

— Former Arizona OF Matt Fraizer was released by the Boston Red Sox from their Double-A affiliate at Portland, Maine. Fraizer has spent seven seasons in the minors without a major-league call-up. He played at the Triple-A level with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2024 and 2025. Fraizer was having a productive summer at Portland, batting .308 with an .881 OPS. He had nine doubles and 17 RBIs. Look for him to be picked up by an MLB organization soon. He was drafted in the third round of the 2019 MLB draft by Pittsburgh.

DEMETRIO CRISANTES FIRST TRIPLE-A HOME RUN
Former Nogales High School standout Demetrio Crisantes was recently elevated to the Arizona Diamondbacks’ No. 1 prospect and he promptly belted his first home run at the Triple-A level.
