FDA recalls Fi dog supplements sold on Amazon and Chewy for potential salmonella contamination

  • September 11, 2026

(Gray News) – Dog supplements sold on Amazon and Chewy have been recalled because they may be contaminated with salmonella.

The company Vet Plus, Inc. is recalling two of its dog supplements, Fi Calming Supplement for Dogs and Fi 8-in-1 Formula Supplement for Dogs.

According to the FDA, the company was notified by its manufacturer that an ingredient in the supplements could be contaminated with salmonella.

The recalled supplements come in 180-gram containers and can be identified by their lot numbers, 26118 and 26159, as well as their UPC codes, 850064800111 and 850055111684.

The supplements were sold nationwide online on Amazon and Chewy.

According to the FDA, salmonella can pose a potential risk not only to pets but to their owners as well.

“There is a potential risk to humans from handling contaminated products or from animal waste after the animals have ingested the product,” the FDA said.

Pet owners should keep an eye on their dogs for signs of a salmonella infection. Symptoms include diarrhea, fever and vomiting. Dogs infected with salmonella may also be lethargic, have a decreased appetite or abdominal pain. Pet owners are advised to take their dog to the vet if their dogs have consumed the supplements and are showing these symptoms.

Dogs can also be carriers of salmonella without showing any symptoms and can infect other pets or humans.

Pet owners are also advised to monitor themselves for signs of salmonella infection. Common symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramping.

The FDA says to stop using the recalled supplements and throw them away, making sure that the lid is tightly sealed before doing so.
