Looking to others who have maintained a youthful glow is a great way to get anti-ageing tips.
Hilary Reiter Azzaretti — who is “always” told she looks younger — shared the routine that really helps her maintain a youthful glow into her 50s.
The 50-year-old credited a good skin care routine, wearing sunscreen and exercise as the top contributors to her youthful glow.
While she gets “Botox three times a year as well as facials”, it is what Azzaretti does every day that she believes has the greatest impact.

She told GB News: “I use various skin care products morning and night. Every morning and evening, I use a gentle facial cleanser followed by serum, eye cream and anti-ageing cream. I use an exfoliating cleanser daily as well when I shower.”
There have been many studies examining the benefits of skin care products for fine lines and wrinkles, with many suggesting they work.
Not all products are built the same, but those containing Vitamin C have shown promising results. Indeed, three clinical studies reviewed in the National Library of Medicine tested a serum containing vitamin C, peptides, and hyaluronic acid for facial ageing.
Results showed an increase in skin cell turnover and notable reductions in the appearance of wrinkles. This was measured both clinically and with 3D imaging.
Participants also reported visible improvements in the smoothness of their skin and the general signs of ageing on their skin.
Another study analysed anti-ageing creams containing hyaluronic acid and how these impact the skin. A randomised 8-week trial tested anti-ageing creams with hyaluronic acid, with or without vitamin C.
Both treatments significantly improved wrinkles, elasticity, hydration, and overall skin quality, but those who used Vitamin C showed a greater reduction in hyperpigmentation.
Azzaretti added: “In the evenings, I also use a tiny amount of Retin-A on my forehead and around the eyes. I add a mask over everything.”
Retin-A is a version of tretinoin, which has often been shown to improve signs of wrinkles, mottled pigmentation, sallowness, and photodamage in various studies.
She credits a good skin care regimen and wearing SPF regularly

Another must-have product in her routine is SPF, which she wears daily. Azzaretti opts for a 30+ sunscreen daily, which a dermatologist called “the single most important skin care step at any age”.
Diet and exercise are also part of her routine, which she believes helps with looking younger, stating she works out every day and eats a healthy diet. Of course, genetics will always impact ageing.
Azzaretti said: “I think some of my more youthful appearance is attributed to genes as well. My mum looks fab for 81, and her mother always looked amazing with her youthful, great skin.”
