BEAUMONT — May is recognized nationwide as Women’s Health Month, encouraging women of all ages to prioritize preventive care, routine checkups, and healthy lifestyle choices. Health professionals say the observance serves as a reminder for women to schedule annual exams, screenings, and discussions with their healthcare providers about overall wellness and long-term health goals.
Communities across the country are also using the month to raise awareness about issues including heart disease, breast cancer, mental health, and maternal care. Local organizations and healthcare providers are offering educational resources and wellness initiatives aimed at helping women take proactive steps toward healthier lives through exercise, nutrition, and regular medical care.
Emily Streeter, certified nurse midwife for CHRISTUS Southeast Texas, talked about the importance of listening to your body during the noon show with Patrina Adger.
