YOUNGSVILLE, La. – Cajun Fitness in Youngsville, Louisiana has posted a video to their Facebook page showing a man backing up his truck and illegally dumping the entire contents of his truck into their dumpster.

In a post to Facebook, Cajun Fitness asks for the public’s help saying “We need your help identifying this guy. He came and dumped the ENTIRE bed of his truck in our dumpster.”
The surveillance video released by Cajun Fitness shows a white pickup truck backing up to the gym’s dumpster followed by the driver emptying everything in the bed of the truck into the businesses dumpster.

Cajun Fitness alleges that the man is not only at fault for illegal dumping, but also say he’s guilty of trespassing.

In Louisiana, dumping your trash into a business’s dumpster without permission can absolutely get you into serious legal trouble.
In most cases, it falls under illegal dumping, littering, trespassing, or even theft of services because the business is paying for that dumpster service.

Businesses also sometimes pursue civil action if illegal dumping causes overflow fees, cleanup costs, pest problems, or sanitation violations. Many businesses now use cameras around dumpsters because it’s become such a common issue.

According to wlf.louisiana.gov, penalties for illegal dumping in Louisiana can carry fines ranging from about $175 to $1,000 or more depending on the amount of trash and local ordinances, misdemeanor charges, community service, possible jail time for repeat offenders or large-scale dumping cases, and trespassing charges if the dumpster is on private property, behind gates, or posted with warning signs.
