We have been at homes since month of March. We have been working from homes, attainding zoom meetings, not doing proper exercise and watching TV whole day. Means we are living SEDENTARY LIFE. It is affecting our body in the form of increasing body fat , reduced muscles mass. There are many BAD NEWS related to COVID-19 that are constantly bombarded on our eardrums resulting in increased enormous amount of mental stress.
MOST OF THE DEATHS IN COVID-19 HAVE BEEN OCCURING DUE TO RESPIRATORY FAILURE. I.e. ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome).
Structure of RESPIRATORY SYSTEM in brief.
Trachea – Bronchus – Bronchioles – Alveoli.
At the level of alveoli, Oxygen- Carbon di-oxide exchange occurs.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN CORONA VIRUS ENTERS IN OUR BODY ?
When CORONA VIRUS enters in body , it causes damage of alveolar tissues. So immune system is activated. WBCs gather to kill CORONA virus.It causes lung tissue damage and FREE RADICALS are released which cause proteins, Cell membranes and DNAs damage. Fluid gets accumulated in alveoli and Oxygen deprivation takes place , causing ARDS and patient dies.
So we have to strengthens our LUNGS.
Exercise is must.
We have to do at least 30-60 mins workout for 3-4 days per week.
BENEFITS of exercise –
1.Increases IMMUNITY
It produces exercise induced antioxydant enzyme which prevent damage of lung tissues by Free radicals.
2.At least 20 mins of exercise every day leads to pump of ENDORPHIN in brain, which is feel good neurotransmitter. It improves mood, sleep. It also reduces anxiety and depression.
