DRMC Physician Residents to Host Wellness Fair

Desert Regional Graduate Medical Education Program to Host Free Community Resource and Wellness Fair at Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City

CATHEDRAL CITY – Desert Regional Medical Center’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program — for the first time — will host a community resource and wellness fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 2 in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Cathedral City at its campus, 32141 Whispering Palms Trail.

The free, public event will feature resident physicians providing educational demonstrations, on-site health services and family‑friendly activities.”

“This Community Resource and Wellness Fair is a powerful example of how medical education and community service go hand in hand,” said Anastasia Palega, Director of the Desert Regional Medical Center Graduate Medical Education Program. “Our resident physicians are proud to provide free screenings, education and resources that empower families to take charge of their health—while reinforcing our commitment to compassionate, community‑focused care.”

This high‑impact community event brings together physicians, resident doctors, nurses, and medical students to provide hands‑on preventive care and health education in a welcoming, interactive setting. Attendees will learn how Desert Care Network supports community health while enjoying activities designed for all ages. Some of the experiences will include:

Sports Physicals
Blood Pressure Checks
Diabetes & Glucose Education
Hearing & Vision Checks
Diabetic Foot Care and Nail Trimming (Nursing & Medical Students)
Hospital-based Program Information Booths

Educational presentations will also be available throughout the day, including Stop the Bleed demonstrations, fall prevention education, and fentanyl awareness discussions.
