Spotify fitness hub: Peloton partnership for Premium users

Spotify is moving into guided fitness content with the launch of a dedicated workout hub that bundles classes from third-party wellness creators and, for paying users, on-demand programming from connected fitness company Peloton.

Announced April 27, the hub adds fitness alongside Spotify’s existing content categories including music, podcasts, audiobooks and video. The company said both free and Premium users can access workouts from creators including Yoga with Kassandra, Chloe Ting Home Workouts and Pilates Body by Raven. In supported markets, Premium subscribers also get more than 1,400 ad-free Peloton classes across strength training, cardio, yoga and meditation. Spotify said the content will be available on mobile, desktop and television devices, and can be downloaded for offline use.

An audience already primed for fitness content

Spotify is pitching the move as a formalization of usage it says already exists on the platform. The company said nearly 70 percent of Premium subscribers work out at least once a month, and that more than 150 million fitness playlists are active globally. Fitness, it added, is among the top use cases for its Prompted Playlist feature.

Workout guidance is increasingly consumed through large, general-purpose platforms rather than dedicated fitness apps or gym memberships. The move follows fitness-related expansions from Apple (Fitness+) and Amazon (Halo), and could intensify competition for creator partnerships, content rights and subscriber attention.
