There’s no disputing the fact that Trinny Woodall, 62, looks good – a lot better than good, in fact. She feels it too, she told Good Housekeeping in an exclusive cover interview for our June issue, and she owes it to a fitness regime that’s transformed her body and protected her bones in the process.
What does it involve exactly? “Strength training three times a week,” she explained. “Yoga twice a week, and at weekends I try and walk because I don’t have time during the week. To do something three times a week is non-negotiable. If I don’t do that, I notice it both physically and mentally.”
When asked what the one thing she does for fitness that she wishes other people would do, she said it’s all about building strength. “Challenge themselves to lift heavier weights,” she said.

“I spent five years lifting two to five kilos, and now my routine is around weights of five to 30 kilos. It really gives strength to your muscle and protects your bones plus I want to be strong enough to lift my own carry-on suitcase into the overhead luggage compartment.”
In a video on her Instagram, Trinny and personal trainer Nathalie Hayward shared an insight into Trinny’s workouts, talking fans through an at-home core workout. “The core is your powerhouse, it’s going to protect your spine – that is the most important reason to protection your core”, explained Nathalie.
In the video, which you can watch above, Trinny said, “I have a long spine so I can easily have back pain and I know the more I practice on having a stronger core, the better my back feels. I think if you do it for three times a week for a month, you’re going to really feel the difference.”
Elsewhere in the GH interview, Trinny reflected on how important energy is when it comes to visibility as you get older. “When we’re full of energy, people notice us,” she said. “I’m very aware that my mum died of Alzheimer’s and she also had osteoporosis – I want to be able-bodied, rather than incapacitated, so I’m doing everything I can to stay well.’
Alongside HRT, which Trinny says is a “game-changer”, she takes marine collagen powder and prioritises strength training and mental agility. She recommends The Elevator by Trinny London “for women who want a good neck’, a serum to deal with collagen depletion, as well as peptides and hyaluronic acid.

And the other no-brainer? Giving compliments. “I love giving people compliments. We don’t do it enough – especially not woman to woman. I’ve been analysing women for decades and I pick up a lot of things by how they hold themselves, by their body language.”
