Welcome to Take the Edge Off, a series that breaks down the beauty and self-care routines of influencers, CEOs, experts, and celebrities. Find out how they unwind and decompress while taking a closer look at the holy-grail favorites they’re raving about.

Any actor, artist, or athlete knows the mental focus it takes to go out in front of hundreds or thousands of people and perform without distraction. At the Olympics, with millions of people watching from their homes, the stakes are even higher. Staying clear-minded is non-negotiable in that case, and it can take the form of a calming playlist, a mood-boosting workout, or indulging in a skincare routine.

For Olympic figure skater Amber Glenn, mindful exercise and taking care of her mental health are top priorities when it comes to staying grounded on the ice—and it’s safe to say that her methods are working, considering she took home the gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Now, the gold medalist is partnering with CorePower Yoga as the workout brand’s newest Mental Health Month Ambassador to spread the gospel about the importance of mindfulness exercise.

Ahead, we caught up with Glenn to chat through the workout routine she swears by, the self-care essentials she uses before getting on the ice, and more ways she stays grounded—from a bath to her favorite deck of cards.

What beauty or self-care favorites do you use on a regular basis to help combat work fatigue?

Undereye patches are a lifesaver for looking and feeling refreshed, especially after travel or long training days. I also rely a lot on yoga and stretching flows because they help me reconnect with my body, release tension, and mentally slow down for a moment.

What’s the last fitness class you streamed or attended in person? How does this contribute to your self-care routine?

I tend to mix it up depending on where I am in my training cycle, but one of the last classes I took in person was a CorePower Yoga C2 class. Their heated power yoga flow always helps me feel more centered and clear. I also love their Yoga Sculpt when I’m looking for something a little more high-energy. That balance between strength, cardio, and mindfulness is really key for me.

For self-care, it’s less about one specific class and more about having a routine that supports both my body and my mind. Yoga gives me space to reset, slow down, and stay connected to how I’m feeling in my mind and body, especially during intense training periods. Then mixing in higher-intensity classes like Yoga Sculpt helps me build endurance and keep things dynamic. Having both keeps me grounded but also challenged, which is when I feel my best.

What is one unconventional habit you have that’s a self-care moment or helps you feel balanced?

I’d say sorting my Magic: The Gathering cards—organizing them helps me mentally decompress while still feeling productive. There’s something really calming about focusing on small details and stepping away from everything for a bit.

What are you reading or listening to these days?

I’ve been listening to The Broski Report podcast lately because it’s funny, chaotic, and honestly a great way to unwind. I’ve also been reading the Witch Hat Atelier manga, which I love for its artwork and storytelling. It feels so immersive and inspiring creatively.

What are some of your go-to bath or shower products?

I love using shower tablets and taking Epsom salt baths, especially after long days or intense training/work schedules. It’s one of my favorite ways to reset both physically and mentally. Paula’s Choice has always been a go-to for skincare, and I also love using Dr. Bronner’s soaps.

Epsom Salt Soaking SolutionAre you into bold makeup, no makeup, or no-makeup makeup right now?

Typically bold. I love makeup as a form of self-expression and creativity, so I tend to gravitate toward looks that feel fun, confident, and a little dramatic.

What’s the last beauty product you put on today?

Haus Labs Atomic Shake Lip Lacquer—I love how long-lasting it is while still feeling lightweight.

Atomic Shake Lip LacquerDo you ever light candles or incense to decompress?

All the time. I love a good sweet or holiday-scented candle because they instantly make a space feel cozy and relaxing. Candles are such a great way to help signal to my brain that it’s time to unwind.

What’s one piece of self-care advice you’d give our readers?

Self-care and recovery are just as crucial to success as the hard work you put in! Rest isn’t something you earn after burnout—taking care of yourself consistently is what allows you to keep showing up at your best long term.
