SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Ulta Beauty plans to open a new regional distribution center in Salt Lake City in 2027, the company’s eighth such facility nationwide and a major expansion of its supply chain in the Mountain West.

The approximately 395,000-square-foot center is expected to create more than 400 new jobs and will support up to 180 stores across the Pacific Northwest and Mountain Plains regions while also fulfilling growing e-commerce orders.

It will use state-of-the-art automation technology, including the AutoStore system, to improve efficiency and simplify product flow.

Company officials said the facility will close a key gap in Ulta Beauty’s Northwest distribution network, bringing products closer to stores and online customers and cutting delivery times by up to one full day for the markets it serves.

The project also aims to provide additional support to the company’s existing distribution center in Fresno, California.

“This investment reflects how we are scaling thoughtfully while continuing to elevate how we serve our stores, our guests and our communities,” Ulta Beauty said in a statement.

The new Salt Lake City center is part of Ulta Beauty’s broader effort to modernize its national supply chain as the retailer continues to expand its physical and digital footprint.
