REDDING, Calif. — There’s a new wellness center in Redding aiming to meet the needs of the agricultural community.

UnitedAg is an ag trade association health plan dedicated to providing comprehensive health benefits for members.

Their team had a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new location on Court Street on May 13.

UnitedAg President and CEO Kirti Mutatkar told the Northstate’s News some healthcare challenges for the ag community are related to its seasonality, as well as it being a low-margin business.

“You walk into a clinic, it’s zero copay, doesn’t go to the deductible. So it doesn’t cost them anything,” Mutatkar said. “So, to give them that access, we identified that Redding was the next place that we wanted to come into. There was a lot of need here for that access to care, and that’s why we came here.”UnitedAg Redding Health & Wellness Clinic in Redding, Wednesday, May 13, 2026. (KRCR)

Mutatkar added that it’s hard to find providers in this region, as the Northstate has been facing shortages in healthcare workers.

So, they’re starting on a part-time basis; currently, they’re open three days a week, though members still have access to virtual consultations.

Staff told us that, as there’s more growth and need in the region, they plan to expand to five days a week.
