Today, vitamin D deficiency is common. It’s said that over a billion people worldwide have low levels of the vitamin in their blood. This has been linked to cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis – but not conclusively. It still confounds us; this vitamin that is part of the human genome.
It seems that all of our study of vitamin D only raises more questions. This may be true, but a new study found a link between the active form of D and good gut bacteria that researchers feel may be the reason that it’s been so difficult to pinpoint results and make conclusions.
It could be that we’ve been studying Vitamin D in completely the wrong way and must change how we approach this research.
