MONROE, La. – Ava Martin, a student at Minden High School, was crowned the new Miss Louisiana’s Teen on Sunday at the University of Louisiana Monroe.
Competing as Union Parish’s Teen, Martin earned $5,000 in scholarships along with the state title. For the talent portion of the competition, she performed a musical theatre dance.
Martin will spend the coming year traveling across Louisiana to promote her platform, The Language of Movement. Her initiative focuses on helping children express their emotions through the art of dance.
As the state winner, she will represent Louisiana at the Miss America’s Teen competition later this year.
