As we all know feeding your body with lots of vitamin C is a great way to help boost your immune system.

Vitamin C is thought to increase the production of white blood cells, which are key to fighting infections off.

That being said, here are some foods that you can eat too help boost your immune system naturally.

#1.Sunflower seeds.

Sunflower seeds are full of nutrients, including phosphorous, magnesium, and vitamin B-6. They are also incredibly high in vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant.
Vitamin E is very important in regulating and maintaining a healthy immune system function.

#2. Shellfish.

Zinc doesn’t get much attention as many other vitamins and minerals, but our bodies need it so that our immune cells can function as intended.
Many people do not know that some shellfish are packed with healthy zinc.

Here examples of some shellfish that you can eat.Clams, lobsters, mussels, and crabs.

Please make sure that you are not allergic to this type of shellfish. It would be very wise not to overdo it and stay within the daily recommended zinc intake.
For adult men, it’s 11 milligrams (mg), and for women, it’s 8 mg. Too much zinc can actually inhibit immune system function.

#3. Citrus fruits.

Almost all citrus fruits are high in vitamin C. Examples of citrus that you can add to your diet. Lemons, Limes, grapefruits, oranges, and tangerines.

With such a variety to choose from, it’s very easy to add a squeeze of this vitamin to any meal.

Because your body doesn’t produce or store it, you need daily vitamin C for continued health.

#4. Strawberries.

You can also add strawberry slices to oatmeal, cold cereal, or yogurt for a healthy breakfast which makes it super easy to get your vitamin C.

Even after being cooked, one cup can yield more than your daily requirement of C.

Brussels sprouts are usually cooked and served as a side dish, but you can also slice or shred raw Brussels sprouts and use them in salad and slaw recipes.

#6. Cauliflower.

Cauliflower is crunchy, delicious, and an excellent source of vitamin C.
One cup of raw cauliflower has 51 milligrams of vitamin C.
Cauliflower is also rich in fiber, calcium, potassium, folate, and vitamin K, plus it’s a great source of antioxidants.
