This list is a comparison of foods rich in Vitamin D to treat or prevent Vitamin D deficiency. A Carnivore Diet being rich in animal fats is specially high in this nutrient.

Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) is a fat-soluble vitamin produced by the body from sunlight exposure and found in animal foods, it differs from Vitamin D2 (Ergocalciferol) which is found mainly in plants and is less effective in raising low Vitamin D levels. While a Vitamin D supplement can be useful, consuming animal fats will always provide doses of Vitamin D3, making populations living in zones with little to no sunlight benefit the most from eating lard, poultry fats, butter and fatty fish to avoid Vitamin D deficiency.
